On November 22nd, Wuhan National High Magnetic Field Center successfully achieved 64 Tesla pulse flat-top magnetic field strength, creating a new world record for pulsed flat-top magnetic field strength.

In this experiment, Wuhan National High Magnetic Field Center used a single-coil magnet with independent interlayer reinforcement, whose hole diameter is 21 mm, supply by capacitor-type pulsed power, and energy consumption is 7 MJ. The weight of the magnet and the power of the power supply are less than 1/10 of the same type of magnetic field system in the world, the magnetic field strength also exceeds the world record of the 60 Tesla pulse flat-top magnetic field strength created by the American National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, becoming the world's highest intensity pulse flat-top magnetic field.

According to Academician Pan Yuan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the pulse flat-top magnetic field has the advantages of both steady and pulsed magnetic fields, which can achieve higher strength and maintain high stability for a period of time. In order to obtain a high-intensity and high-stability pulsed flat-top magnetic field, the researchers of our school have proposed a new scheme for dual-capacitor coupled state regulation, which is the first time to driven the pulse-strong magnetic field waveform by capacitors, and the pulse flat-top magnetic field with 64 Tesla and 3‰ stability is successfully realized, making China's pulsed magnetic field technology at the forefront of the world.
